Sausage Fest 2024
You may be familiar with the term ‘Sausage Fest’ and deem it a grey area to be exploring. Perhaps you think it’s absolutely not somewhere you could take the kids, and your initial reaction to the mention of Sausage Fest is utter dismay.
Let me introduce you to the family-friendly Sausage Fest, a Dachsund-related event full of tail wags and treats galore.
Where, What, When and Why?
Sausage Fest was established in 2023 by Emily, who has her own sausage dog, Barney. Since July, Emily has arranged several sausage walks around the Buckinghamshire area, with owners regularly travelling to attend.
Sausage Fest 2024 was held in High Wycombe, England, on the 24th of March and absolutely exceeded all expectations of what a Dachshund-friendly event looks like. Gathering in The Front Room coffee lounge in High Wycombe, almost 100 owners brought along their furry companions to enjoy an afternoon of mingling (owner to owner and pup to pup!)
Things to do
While at Sausage Fest, there were various activities for all pups and owners to enjoy. Unlimited pup cups were on offer throughout the event, which went down as an absolute treat as a first-time-try for Basil.
There were photo opportunities galore with sausages-sized sofas in the sun and stalls to treat the hounds from Moo & Mai with their gorgeous harnesses, collars and leads; delicious dog-friendly sweet treats from Furr Baby Bakery and a wide range of natural doggy treat and chew options, suitable for various sizes of hound from Niyah Loves!
Lastly, the brilliant photography work of Ylenia Margareci provided perfect pics of everybody’s pups enjoying the event, which included shots of them enjoying treats, cuddles, mingling and generally having the time of their lives (the dogs and humans!)
So, What’s (Coming) Up Dawg?
The next big Sausage Fest event is being held on the 2nd of June 2024 in Bledlow Ridge, Buckinghamshire.
As announced by the organisers themselves:
“Sausage Fest is coming back bigger and better! On the 2nd of June, we are throwing a summer sausage dog party! The venue is an enclosed, private dog field with plenty of space for activities. We have ice cream and food trucks at the ready as well as trade stalls for you to shop at.
There will be a competition for the most handsome hound, prettiest bitch, and best trick.
Tickets for this event are now live on Eventbrite and can be found here. Parking is available on-site, but please remember to select a parking ticket at the checkout. We look forward to seeing you all again in June!”
Grab your tickets while you can; you will not regret it!
